DESCRIPTION
NMT Dubai was contracted the Turnkey job for movement of 1 Unit Shiplift ( Single Lift weight 1005 Tons)Dims: 120 x 28.2 x 3.5 mtrs. from Jebel Ali to Goa.
Scope of work as follows:
- Load out from Yard at Jebel Ali onto Hyd Axle trailers.
- Transport from Yard to Port.
- Load out of the Unit onto Semi Submersible vsl. which also required ballast/de ballast operations.
- Sea Fastening/survey and Stability calculation.
- Sea movement from Jebel Ali to Goa.
- Positioning the Vsl. and Unit into the Naval Dock.
- Carrying out suitable Ballast operations. such that the Unit was lowered onto rams in the dock, and the vsl was moved out.
As per Initial load out plan, the ship lift was to move as a single unit, however, due to logistic problems in obtaining suitable vsl. the unit was split into two sections, and shipped separately on two vessels. Thereafter, at the Naval Dock yard at Goa, once the Units were positioned in place and aligned they were welded together and finally lowered onto the Hyd. Lifting Rams.
