DESCRIPTION
The Hope Downs 1 Stage 2 Project involved the ramp up of iron ore mining operations from 10Mt pa to 30Mt pa with NMT Projects contracted to oversee the total logistics movement from ex works factory in China through to delivery at Hope Downs minesite in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Some of the items were too large for the Chinese road envelope but NMT was able to overcome this logistical difficulty by obtaining permission from the port authority to allow final assembly of these larger bins to take place at the port. In addition, cargo was labelled and handled in such a way that allowed final delivery of the items in accordance with its priority which assisted in keeping with the construction schedule and overall project timeline.
