NMT was awarded a power plant project in Suriname, the former Dutch colony, by a Finnish engine manufacturer.
2 diesel engines each 300 Tonnes from Italy, 2 generators each 72 Tonnes and 1 transformer of 52 Tonnes from Finland had to be shipped ,hauled and rigged onto foundations at the Staatsolie Power Company Suriname power plant on the Tout Lui Faut refinery just South of Paramaribo.
The engines were feedered from Triëste/Italy to Antwerp and shipped to Paramaribo where they were discharged onto 1 x 12 Scheuerle SPMT's on a flattop barge.
They were temporarily stored on the refinery roro dock and a few weeks later shifted on a 1,5 x SPMT onto their foundations.
Last but not least a 50 Tonnes exhaust gas boiler was picked up in Qingdao/China in cooperation with NMT Shanghai and shipped Paramaribo and on-carriage to the jobsite. |
